Urology
Did you know that in up to half of the cases of infertile couples, the cause of infertility is also, or exclusively, on the male side? The most common issues are disorders of sperm production, but other causes can also lead to infertility, and specialists in urology help us uncover these.
If you and your partner have been unable to conceive a baby for more than a year, please do not hesitate to book an appointment for a sperm analysis and a subsequent joint consultation with us.
Sperm analysis is the basis of diagnosis
Male infertility is most often caused by various disorders of sperm production. Therefore, sperm analysis is the fundamental examination for male fertility. At GYNCARE, you can choose from 4 types with varying degrees of complexity:
- Spermiogram BASAL – Basic sperm analysis using a microscope.
- Spermiogram BASAL CASA – Basic sperm analysis using a CASA sperm analyzer, which utilizes elements of artificial intelligence.
- Spermiogram OPTIMAL – Sperm analysis using a CASA sperm analyzer + DNA fragmentation testing in sperm.
- Spermiogram PREMIUM – Sperm analysis using a CASA sperm analyzer + DNA fragmentation testing in sperm + oxidative stress testing in ejaculate.
In case of a pathological finding, i.e., when any of the evaluated parameters are outside the established values, a follow-up examination after a period of time is recommended to confirm the diagnosis.
What if the result is unfavorable?
If a pathological result is confirmed, a couple’s consultation with a reproductive specialist is recommended to determine further diagnosis and treatment. In indicated cases, a urological consultation is advisable for the examination of the male reproductive system and male fertility disorders. A pathological result does not automatically mean that you cannot have children. To improve sperm analysis parameters, sometimes only a lifestyle change, vitamin therapy, or medication is sufficient. Even in cases of severe pathology, we can help you with assisted reproductive techniques. Based on a detailed diagnosis, we can suggest appropriate steps to support fertility and increase the chance of successful conception.

Urological examination
A urological examination consists of a consultation, an ultrasound examination of the testicles, and an analysis of sperm analysis results. If necessary, swabs, blood tests for hormonal profile, or other additional examinations can be performed to determine the cause of infertility. Such an examination can reveal various inflammations, testicular cancer, or other testicular abnormalities (e.g., pathological dilation of veins in the scrotum – varicocele).
Our collaborating urologists practice directly at GYNCARE clinics. All necessary examinations for infertility treatment can thus be completed under one roof, and you don’t have to go anywhere else.
