Why donate at GYNCARE?

Approximately 15-20% of couples in Slovakia suffer from infertility. Although we can help most of them even without donor assistance, there are cases where the only chance for a healthy pregnancy is the use of donated sperm. Examples include overcoming oncological treatment or being a carrier of a genetic disease. Help these couples fulfill their dream of a family!

In addition to doing a good deed and helping others, you will gain:

  • Information about your reproductive health, from sperm analysis to expensive genetic tests worth approximately 500 €, and all of this for free!
  • Financial compensation – for your time and other costs associated with donation, we will pay you compensation of 100 € for each sperm donation. In total, for 10 donations, you can receive compensation of up to 1000 €.

By law, donated sperm can only be used in the treatment of couple infertility, and sperm donation is strictly anonymous on both sides.

Who can become a donor?

  • Age 18 – 39 years.
  • Good health without serious illnesses (including mental).
  • Minimum secondary education.
  • High sperm quality.
  • No genetically determined diseases.
  • Negative tests for sexually transmitted diseases.
  • Donor must not regularly consume alcohol and drugs.

All necessary examinations, such as sperm quality testing (spermiogram), genetic testing, and tests for sexually transmitted diseases, will be performed for you free of charge as part of the donation process. If you meet the other criteria, do not hesitate to fill out the contact form!

How does the donation process work?

Subsequently, we will take your blood for genetic examinations, which are performed in a specialized laboratory in Prague. The results of these examinations take a bit longer – usually 4-6 weeks.

naplanovanie terminu

In case of good results from all examinations, you will sign the donation contract and schedule the dates for individual donations.

vyplatenie

After each donation, we will pay you the first half of the compensation – 50 €. Six months after the completion of donation, it is necessary to come for a repeat blood collection for STD testing. In case of a negative result, we will pay you the remainder of the compensation – 50 € for each donation.

What examinations will you undergo?

Individuals interested in sperm donation at GYNCARE clinics must undergo several tests and examinations before the donation itself to verify if they are suitable donors. Specifically, these tests and examinations include:

  • Sperm analysis including DNA fragmentation – examination of sperm count, motility, and morphology (shape), along with an examination to detect the presence and proportion of sperm with damaged genetic information
  • Tests for sexually transmitted diseases – donors are tested using blood samples for HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B and C, and urine is tested for chlamydia.
  • Genetic tests – in addition to karyotype, the examination primarily focuses on carrier status for the most common genetic diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, spinal muscular atrophy, genetically linked deafness, fragile X syndrome, and genetic abnormalities leading to fertility disorders.

In case of an unfavorable result from any examination, a consultation regarding the result will be conducted with a specialist physician.

How will compensation be paid to you?

For each sperm donation, the donor is entitled to compensation of 100 €, and can make a maximum of 10 donations, thus receiving a total compensation of 1000 €. The compensation payment for each donation is divided into two parts in a 50:50 ratio:

  • The first 50 € will be paid to you in cash immediately after sample submission, provided it meets the quality criteria.
  • The second 50 € can be paid to you no earlier than six months after donation, and this is in case of a negative result from the sexually transmitted disease test. The remaining amount will be paid to you in a lump sum for all previous donations via bank transfer.
